Jon Bon Jovi Finally Puts a Price on NJ Mansion: It’s Available for $20M

Jon Bon Jovi Jersey Homerealtor.com, Max Mumby/Indigo/Getty Images

The rocker Jon Bon Jovi has relisted his rockin’ New Jersey estate. Now it comes with an important piece of information for potential buyers—a price.

The posh property in Red Bank, NJ, had previously been listed as “Price upon request,” when it debuted a year ago. It’s returned to the market with an asking price of $20 million.

Last year, when we asked brokers to give their best guesses on the mysterious number, estimates ranged from $14 million to $100 million.

So perhaps somewhere in the middle is about right for this cool chateau.

It was built in 1999 by the noted New York-based architect Robert A.M. Stern, former dean of the Yale School of Architecture, in a style that could be described as French chateau meets rocker-chic.

Known as High Point Estate, the Euro-inspired, six-bedroom residence is set on 15 lush acres, with 700 feet of Navesink River frontage. It’s located about an hour outside Manhattan.

The sprawling 18,000-square-foot design boasts “exceptional materials, museum quality craftsmanship and superb attention to detail,” according to the listing, which also notes that the grounds were originally designed by the influential landscape architecture firm Olmsted Brothers.

A gated entrance opens to reveal brick courtyards, French balconies, slate roofs, tall chimneys, and historic wrought-iron accents.

The expansive layout features a 50-foot living room with 12-foot ceilings, a grand fireplace, bookshelves, and parquet flooring, and includes a movie theater. The adjoining bar features river views.

The dining room was designed for a round dining table seating 18 people. The standout kitchen contains a brick barrel ceiling, with hand-painted beams, wide-plank wood floors and a large island, as well as a breakfast room that looks out to the river.

The family room includes beamed ceilings and a fireplace that doubles as an outdoor fireplace, with a pergola and seating area looking out to the pool and water.

The second floor includes the family wing, with a study, four en suite bedrooms, including a grand master suite with a balcony and spa bath. A second wing with a separate entrance, intended for staff or guests, includes two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen.

In addition, the grounds have a pool and two cabanas, an original carriage house from 1910, a pub with bar and pool table called the “Shoe Inn,” as well as a dock and boat lift.

Meanwhile, a loft-style music studio is located over seven double-door garages below. Yet another building includes laundry, a workshop, and storage.

While the Jersey native is still looking for a buyer for his Garden State compound, that hasn’t stopped the superstar from making other real estate deals.

Last summer, he sold an oceanfront in Palm Beach, FL, for almost $20 million that he had purchased just two years before, for $10 million, and totally rebuilt. The brand-new contemporary featured five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and three half-bathrooms, within a little over 5,000 square feet of living space and ocean views.

On the same day as that sale, he splashed out $43 million for another beachfront abode down the street.

The even larger, 10,232-square-foot mansion features seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and five powder rooms. It was built in 2007, and its interior details include coffered ceilings, hardwood and marble floors, and intricate millwork. The property’s grounds, on an oversize lot, include a courtyard pool and cabana, as well as covered dining and lounging space.

Bon Jovi, 58, is the frontman and founder of the band Bon Jovi, formed in 1983. The Grammy-winning rock group has recorded 14 studio albums and sold over 100 million records worldwide.

Gloria Nilson with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach Shrewsbury holds the listing.

Hemsworth Brothers Stage Successful Sale of Their Malibu Retreat

Hemsworth Brothers Malibu Home SaleBarry King/Getty Images

Malibu residents will be seeing a little less of the hunky Hemsworth brothers in the future. Chris, Liam, and Luke Hemsworth have just let their California family retreat go, for $4.25 million. It initially landed on the market in September for $4.9 million.

The sale price may sound disappointing, until you consider the fact that the A-list Aussies bought the architectural modern overlooking the Pacific Ocean in March 2016 for $3,450,000.

Shed no tears for the bros, who are among Hollywood’s hottest commodities. It may be they’re just too busy with their careers, and don’t have the time to relax together as they used to.

It’s reported that the brothers were fond of gathering in the four-bedroom, four-bathroom, 4,612-square-foot home with views of both mountains and coastline.

Tall ceilings accommodated their height, and a chef’s kitchen with restaurant-grade Viking, Wolfe, and Sub-Zero appliances, as well as a 750-bottle refrigerated wine cellar, accommodated their appetites.

The grown-ups will enjoy the luxurious master suite, with its views, dual walk-in closets, and spa bathroom with a steam shower and Calacatta gold marble. The dual walk-in closets are also an asset, as are the dual walk-in closets and the towering art walls, ideal for hanging artwork or movie posters.

The grounds also accommodate a getaway lifestyle. The property is gated and secured, and the house is accessed by a long driveway.

There’s plenty of privacy, but also plenty of open space outdoors. Families could enjoy a spacious dining deck, an outdoor fireplace, gardens, mature landscaping, as well as rolling lawns and natural gardens.

Even during the pandemic, the Hemsworth brothers have remained in the limelight in Hollywood, with Chris, the middle brother, a staple in the Marvel Universe, as Thor.

The youngest brother, Liam, is perhaps best known for franchises like “The Hunger Games” and the “The Expendables,” but he also has other big- and small-screen projects under his belt.

Luke, the eldest brother, has been nominated for an award for his ongoing role in the HBO hit “Westworld.”

Eric Haskell of The Agency represented the Hemsworths, while Chris Cortazzo and Susan Saul represented the buyer.

New to Market: Matt Damon’s Zen Los Angeles Home Asks $21 Million

As part of his plan of leaving Los Angeles and moving his family to the Big Apple, Matt Damon has now listed his Pacific Palisades home for sale. And he’s hoping to cash in big from the sale, asking $21 million for the Zen-inspired contemporary home set in one of LA’s most desirable neighborhoods.

Recently listed with Eric Haskell, an agent with celebrity real estate brokerage The Agency, Matt Damon’s house is an architectural masterpiece with 7 bedrooms, 10 baths, tons of distinct design features and some pretty extraordinary amenities. The Academy Award-winning actor will be trading all this for a 6,000-square-foot penthouse in Brooklyn, New York, having broken records last year by paying $16.745 million for the top floor unit of a famous former hotel, The Standish.

An architectural gem with striking features & Instagram-worthy interiors

Designed by award-winning architect Grant Kirkpatrick, founding partner of leading-edge design studio KAA Design Group, Matt Damon’s house is an extraordinary contemporary home that showcases masterful craftmanship throughout its 13,508-square-foot interiors.

With a modern-yet-timeless design, the house is anchored by a breathtaking atrium with 35-foot mahogany vaulted ceilings. The interiors are bathed in natural light and mix warm wood elements with natural stone, giving the whole space an inviting, relaxing vibe. Other striking features that deserve a shout-out: clerestory windows and glass walls that fuse the indoors with the outdoor areas.

The family room opens to the magnificent chef’s kitchen with custom mahogany cabinetry, Bluestone countertops and stainless steel Viking, Wolf and Miele appliances. The kitchen then opens to the expansive backyard retreat (but more on that in a minute).

All in all, Matt Damon’s soon-to-be former Los Angeles abode packs 7 bedrooms and 10 baths across 13,508 square feet of space. The primary suite comes with its own private terrace, dual dressing rooms, massage room and a spa-style bath with soaking tub and expansive shower. Pretty much every room offers leafy property and treetop views, adding an extra note of serenity to this wonderfully Zen-inspired home.

Amenities galore and a wonderful backyard retreat

Most celebrity homes tend to outdo themselves when it comes to amenities and bonus rooms and Matt Damon’s house is no exception. Interior amenities include a game room, bar, office, gym, plush media room, staff quarters and wine storage and tasting room. And that’s just what you’ll find inside the house.

Outside, the modern home has quite a few amenities that invite calm and relaxation (perfectly in tune with the rest of the house), including an expansive pool, spa, a cascading waterfall, koi pond and Hawaiian-inspired Lanai with a covered lounge and alfresco dining terrace. To appeal to the little ones — Damon is a father of four — there’s also a nice children’s play area.

Matt Damon’s next home is vastly different from his Los Angeles digs

The Academy Award-winning actor, who is starring in the highly anticipated Ridley Scott-directed The Last Duel (to be released this year), will soon be leaving Los Angeles behind. The move has long been planned, with Damon and wife Luciana Bozán Barroso having purchased a Brooklyn Heights penthouse two years ago for a record-breaking price.

The couple paid $16.745 million for a 6-bedroom, 6,201-square-foot penthouse at The Standish — a historically significant converted building that was originally built in 1903 as a Beaux Arts hotel. At the time, Damon’s purchase set a new record for the borough, making him the owner of the most expensive property ever sold in Brooklyn.

Despite the fact that the penthouse consists of several units merged for extra space, the actor will be downsizing considerably. And the loss in square footage is matched by a significant downgrade in outdoor space — though it’s worth noting that Matt Damon’s new home does have an expansive terrace, a rarity for New York City. There’s no Zen backyard pool though, so we’re pretty sure the Good Will Hunting actor will, at times, miss his Pacific Palisades retreat.

A gorgeous home in a private, yet convenient, location was an ideal place for the legendary recording artist Robbie Robertson to settle down and let the inspiration flow.

Now the songwriter behind “The Weight” is hoping to offload his prestigious perch. Robertson’s Beverly Hills, CA, home is on the market for $4,195,000.

Robertson purchased this sanctuary in 2012 for $2,676,755, and it’s been remodeled over the past decade. The home now sports a minimalist, modern aesthetic, with clean lines, new finishes, and up-to-date technology.

He first put it on the market in July 2020 for $4,895,000, and has gradually reduced the price over the months since.

The legendary musician wasn’t just working on tunes behind the front gates of this private sanctuary.

“Robertson bought this home as an escape to pen what would become his New York Times best-selling autobiography, ‘Testimony,’” says the listing agent, Ben Lee of Coldwell Banker Realty.

Lee also notes the appeal of the home’s setting and central location, high on North Beverly Drive across from Franklin Canyon Park.

“One of Beverly Hills’ best-kept secrets,” he says, “this ultra-private getaway boasts an incredibly scenic landscape, while remaining six minutes from the Beverly Hills Hotel.”

It must have been the ideal place for out-of-town collaborators of the former member of The Band, whether they stayed in one of the home’s five bedrooms, or in the nearby hotel. Guests could also make good use of the eight-car parking area at the end of the long and winding driveway.

The home has high ceilings, an open floor plan, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors. The large windows connect people in the home to the lush canyon foliage and views.

Adding to the home’s modern vibe are glistening walnut floors, a floating staircase, and a gleaming state-of-the-art kitchen with stainless-steel appliances, custom cabinetry, and a generous central island with a cooktop.

Sophisticated smart home technology is in place, and, naturally, there’s a professional-grade sound system.

Although the design is modern, the 3,219-square-foot residence has a cozy, inviting feeling, thanks to its four fireplaces. Even the cars stay warm (or cool) in the temperature-controlled garage with quartz flooring.

At least one of the five bedrooms appears to have been used for studio purposes. The lavish master bedroom suite features a fireplace, canyon views, a large walk-in closet, and a deck. The master bathroom has a new steam shower, sunken tub, and still more views.

The 1-acre grounds have a retreatlike feel. Outdoor accoutrements include a spacious patio deck made of limestone and Brazilian ipe wood, two fire pits, and a hot tub that flows into a tastefully lit modern pool.

Robertson, 77, served as lead guitarist and songwriter for The Band. He penned rock classics like “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” “Up on Cripple Creek,” and “Somewhere Down the Crazy River.”

As a solo artist and composer, he’s also known for musical collaborations on Martin Scorsese films, among them “Raging Bull,” “Casino,” “The Departed,” “The Wolf of Wall Street,” and “The Irishman.”

According to a report in Variety, Puig purchased the property in 2017 for $2.65 million.

In 2015, he bought an estate in Sherman Oaks, CA, for $1.8 million.

According to property records, Puig currently owns three other properties. Two are located in Miami-Dade County: A six-bedroom home he purchased in 2012 for $1.5 million, and another brand-new home purchased in early 2018 for an undisclosed price.

Puig’s third home is located in Avondale, AZ. He purchased that four-bedroom desert home in early 2017 for $295,000.

Puig, 30, didn’t play at all in the truncated 2020 MLB season. In 2019, he split his time between the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians after starring with the Dodgers for six seasons.

A native of Cuba, he was the runner-up for the National League Rookie of the Year in 2013 and was named an All-Star in 2014. He’s currently a free agent.

Puig was represented by Felicia G. Morris with Searchlight Realty.

LaMelo Ball Staying in Cam Newton’s Cool Condo in Charlotte, NC

LaMelo Ball Charlotte Condorealtor.com, Jared C. Tilton/Getty Images

Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball has snagged a place to stay in Charlotte, NC.

The heavily hyped hoopster has moved into a condo owned by Cam Newton, the New England Patriots quarterback, according to Triangle Business Journal.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by LaMelo Ball (@melo)

A report on social media seemed to fuel the headlines.

Newton bought the unit for $1.6 million in 2012, about a year into his tenure with the Carolina Panthers.

With his career in Charlotte coming to a close, Newton first placed his unit on the market in 2019 for $3.2 million. After signing a free-agent deal with the New England Patriots, he then relisted the home over the summer for just under $3 million. The price was then sliced again in November to $2.6 million.

There’s no evidence of a sale, and the property is still held by an Atlanta LLC connected with the quarterback. So instead of waiting for a buyer to emerge, Newton probably called an audible and struck a deal with the teenage hoops prodigy to lease the place.

Off the court, Ball can now familiarize himself with the Uptown neighborhood. The posh pad is located in a boutique building called The Trust, whose modern charms have appealed to athletes and celebrities who prefer an exclusive address in the Queen City.

The NBA legend Michael Jordan (and majority owner of the Hornets) has reportedly occupied the entire seventh floor. And the rocker Chris Daughtry, of “American Idol,” purchased a unit in 2014, according to the Charlotte Agenda. With just seven luxe residences, the building offers ample privacy.

It’s quite a score for the 19-year-old. The spread, fit for a star, offers three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms on 3,335 square feet, and occupies half of the fifth floor.

Noted details of the modern design include an open living and dining space, as well as a state-of-the-art kitchen with Sub-Zero, Bosch, Miele, and Wolf appliances. A “Zen-like” master bedroom retreat with a spa bath boasts an enormous walk-in closet. Other perks include a wet bar and a glassed-in solarium. The property also comes with a Crestron home automation system.

Ball was selected by the Hornets with the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. He has two older basketball-playing brothers: Lonzo, who stars with the New Orleans Pelicans, and LiAngelo, currently in the NBA G-League. LaMelo has a signature shoe with Big Baller Brand, the company of his father, LaVar. He also has a role on his family’s reality show on Facebook Watch, “Ball in the Family.”

Newton was represented by Shane McDevitt, with The McDevitt Agency.
